Biography

I am a freelance producer / assistant producer with over a decade of experience spanning across specialist factual, factual entertainment and observational documentaries having worked on series' and documentaries for NBCU, Discovery Channel, BBC, S4C, NPO and YouTube.

 

Having worked both nationally and internationally, including doing several long stints in remote areas of the Arctic, Himalayas and the USA, I am able to adapt and overcome situations both logistically and editorially as they unfold in the field, and remain calm in sometimes very intense and stressful situations. For example, adapting to an ever-changing schedule and storyline whilst producing a storm-chasing season in the heart of Tornado Alley, USA, or tracking meltwater channels on a high Arctic glacier in Svalbard for a climate change series.

With an MSc in Glaciology I am confident in finding, speaking and building relationships with contributors and specialists who sometimes cover complex topics, and am able to translate these into clear briefs for the wider team. 

 

I have a proven track record of taking ideas from development through to post-production, have good editorial judgment, and although I naturally gravitate towards environmental / climate / weather / nature / planet earth programmes, I also work on programmes across the whole factual spectrum from politics to archaeology to history and investigative journalism. 

 

On-location I ​​​​am multi-skilled and hands on, including but not limited to, rigging and operating GoPros, mic'ing and controlling tentacles for sound, data wrangling and fully compliant UK drone operator with a DJI Mini 3.
